Our history
Since its foundation in May 2006, 4 Stagioni – Italian Restaurant Pizzeria has established itself as a family-owned landmark in Gibraltar. With more than 19 years of history, it has successfully preserved and shared the legacy of authentic Italian and Mediterranean cuisine, rooted in traditional Sardinian recipes and crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Its wood-fired oven, artisanal pizzas, and weekly homemade specials are part of the experience that both locals and visitors truly appreciate.
The restaurant is located in a unique setting: Jumper’s Bastion, on Rosia Road, a former defensive wall built by the British in the 18th century as part of Gibraltar’s fortified system. This historic area, close to Rosia Bay —famous for receiving the legendary HMS Victory after the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805—, still preserves the character of the fortifications that once protected the bay.
Today, that military past has been transformed into a place full of charm. 4 Stagioni stands on a peaceful pedestrian street with privileged views of the bay and the Royal Navy Dockyard, offering a relaxed atmosphere that invites guests to escape the bustle of the center. Here, every visit becomes a journey that blends history, tradition, and flavor in a space where family warmth and Italian gastronomy meet Gibraltar’s cultural heritage.
Chef Paolo Olmetto
Born in Uras, in the heart of Sardinia, Paolo Olmetto grew up surrounded by the aromas of the Campidano, where from an early age he learned to prepare ravioli, lasagna, and homemade sauces alongside his mother. Those summers of harvests and freshly picked tomatoes ignited his passion for authentic, seasonal cuisine.
With more than 40 years of experience in the restaurant and hospitality industry, Paolo now transforms those memories into dishes full of essence and natural flavor, offering in his own restaurant a cuisine that blends Sardinian tradition, love for fresh ingredients, and the warmth of family.
Our Culinary Philosophy
At 4 Stagioni, every dish tells a story that blends Italian and Mediterranean tradition with respect for authentic flavors. We embrace the artisanal: handmade doughs, slow-cooked sauces, and fresh seasonal ingredients. Rooted in Sardinian heritage yet adapted to the present, our cuisine offers a warm and genuine experience—where savoring good food unhurriedly is an essential part of the journey.
